Alex was a jack-of-all-trades. He could fix just about anything, and if he did not know how to fix it, he knew someone who did. He had a shed full of tools, most every common farm implement, and at least one farm tractor at any given time. He could raise a garden with numerous vegetables every summer, keep a grape arbor going all the time, raise chickens any time in his life, and keep a herd of registered Simmental cattle. In his later years,he liked mowing lawns for "the old folks", as he would say. He mowed lawns all over Fulton for folks attending the local senior center.
