Amine was born in Morocco on September 9, 1969 to Rita and Ahmed Britel, joining his sisters Lamia and Mouna. Amine lived an accomplished life in both academics and athletics. He practiced equestrian jumping, and as a teen, was a member of the Moroccan national junior team as a sprinter. He studied at the National Institute of Sports and Physical Education in Paris and later earned an economics degree from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Harvard. Amine was a member of a 4-by-400 meter relay team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, played first-division professional soccer in France and was a world class triathlete who competed in the 2002 and 2009 World Triathlon Championships.
