I haven't been able to bring myself to visit the beautiful things people have posted about Betsy quite yet. It hurts to think the belly laughs are just a memory.
I have never met someone so much like a sister that has inspired me to follow through with a dream of pursuing a passion. This wind is temporarily gone from my sails, and I will fly again soon, but I will need time to let the sails fill. I am grateful for the time we had and shared. I am so grateful you did not have to suffer so long, Betsy. I am so grateful for the gifts you have shared in your time on earth. I know you are out there watching over all of us. The dragonfly coming to visit. The swarm in the yard.
I miss you my friend.
I will be able to write more later.
Applying love always.

I was saw Betsy for the first time in August 2006 when she agreed to help me. What attracted me to Betsy was her smile, her energy and her sense of peace. We got together almost every week for 8 years. She LOVED her son, Christopher with her soul. She LOVED Matthew with every fiber of her being. She taught me love, light and faith. She took such good care of her father. If Betsy said she loved you - she did. I miss her laugh, her smile, her presence and just her being.

I remember the first time I met Betsy. She was very kind, had a glow and a welcoming smile. We talked for a few minutes and my fondest memory is when she said,"take all things with grace and a smile."

I met Betsy over 3 years ago at the Children's Shelter in Auburn. She was so kind to me, and I immediately became connected with her because I knew she was a women grace and glory. The things I learned from her I will always cherish. I miss you Betsy

When I think of Betsy, I am reminded of one of the most joyous, open, and caring individuals I have ever known. Yet I recall her referring to herself as a "drama queen", ever seeking the spotlight and the acknowledgement of others. Perhaps that was once the case, but God often works miracles in people's lives. When I think of Betsy, the Prayer of St Francis comes to mind and all that it represents. Betsy uncovered a great gift in living and in doing so became a gift to those around her. It's hard not to miss Betsy - her smile, her laughter, her gentle spirit. Nonetheless, as the Prayer concludes, "it is by dying that one awakens to Eternal Life," perhaps we all will be able to carry that love with us forever.

Getting to know Betsy was easy. I remember we were at Lake Tahoe and while Matthew and Bob were doing what they do, Betsy and I curled up on a day bed and we shared our lives. It was easy to be open and transparent with her. I found her to be loving, accepting, and willing to be vulnerable. I will miss her and the times we can no longer share.

The first thing I noticed about BETSY was her smile. It lit up her face and eyes. It was welcoming and loving. I miss her.
