Deborah Patricia Hannon passed on to her eternal life in heaven on September 11, 2017, in Sacramento, California.  “Debbie” as she was affectionately known, was born on May 12, 1954 at Camp Pendleton, California, the daughter of Robert E. Hannon and Barbara P. (Church) Hannon.

She always loved the Lord Jesus, was devoted to her family, and joyously celebrated her last birthday with her 2 brothers and their wives (Mark & Christine, Matt & April), her 2 sisters (Denise and Cyndy), 4 nephews (Alex, Rory, Joshua and Logan) and niece Mackenzie. She is also survived by her beloved aunt and uncle, Pat and Trudy Hannon, and 12 first cousins, all of whom will love and miss her more than words can express. Debbie was adored by her companion of many years, Bill Lynch, and many other very good friends who cherish the times spent with her. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Debbie was vivacious and had a wry sense of humor - stories of her antics are legendary among family, neighbors and friends!  She was an AAU Synchronized swimmer, enjoyed horseback riding, and adopted cats wherever she found them.  Debbie was generous, friendly and kind, strong in her faith and determined to overcome obstacles with grace and love for others.
Debbie attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic elementary school in Castro Valley, graduated from Bishop O=Dowd Catholic high school in Oakland, received her BSN degree from Samuel Merritt Hospital College of Nursing, and began her career at Summit Hospital in Oakland, fulfilling her lifelong dream of being a nurse. Debbie’s decision to become a donor transformed the lives of two women whose sight was restored by cornea transplants.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017, at 11 AM at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 3433 Somerset Ave., Castro Valley.  There will be a private interment the next day at Mt Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Klamath Falls, Oregon, where many of her father’s family are buried.
