Josephine Jussen "Josie" Stein
August 29, 1950 - December 22, 2013
Josie Jussen Stein, loving wife, mother and hypnotherapist, passed away on Sunday afternoon, December 22, in her home while surrounded by her family. For the past year Josie had waged a battle with cancer (multiple myeloma). She had a gift for listening, was a natural born counselor and an extraordinary hypnotherapist. Josie touched the souls of many, helping them to heal where other modalities had failed, and will be sorely missed.
A real coal miner’s daughter, Josie was born on August 29, 1950 in Den Hague (The Netherlands), to Joseph and Jacqueline Jussen, immigrating to San Jose with her parents when she was six years old. Josie always loved the mountains and the beach, marrying her husband of 33 years on the shores of Lake Tahoe in 1980. Except for three years in Hawaii, they have lived in Truckee since 1986. Two of her dad’s favorite sayings were, “Make you a party!” and “Make you happy!” Joseph, I trust that Josie is in heaven right now and you have made her a great big party and that she is happy!
She is survived by husband Matthew, son Joshua, daughter Elisha, mother Jackie, sister Linda, and beloved dog Bella. A memorial celebration of Josie's life will be held at the North Tahoe Events Center in Kings Beach on Saturday Dec 28 from 3-6 PM.
