On August 24, 1973, Marcus Duane Moore, the oldest son of Wayne Moore Sr. and Pamela Savoy, was born in Washington, D.C. at Greater Southeast Hospital. As a child, he was very friendly, outgoing, loved to play sports, tell jokes, and spend time with his family. Marcus attended the public school system in Prince George’s County, Maryland. While attending Forestville High School, Marcus played football and won several awards including all-star state championship player. He graduated from high school in 1991 and immediately following graduation, Marcus began working for the Prince George’s County Board of Education.
Marcus was a loving husband, caring father, brother, uncle and trusting friend. He was a fun loving person who enjoyed being the life of the party. He enjoyed singing, dancing, and enjoying spending quality time with his family. He was very interested and supportive of his three sons in their sport endeavors, and their education.
He married Naudia Elaine Delaney on June 26, 1999 who he affectionately called “Moonie.” Although they were married for 19 years, they have been together for 23 years. From this union, they had three children, Aaron 17 years old, Arell 13 years old, and Arius 6 years old.
Marcus was a very enthusiastic Dallas fan. Marcus proudly wore a star on his shirt. He loved his team. He would often say: “How about dem boys?!” But, the star that he wore on his shirt never shined as bright as the star that he wore on the inside. His inner spirit reflected love, vitality, and kindness. He always put his family first and incorporated his friends and loved them all the same. Marcus was, sun-glass wearing, dancing, silly, and always ready to go somewhere and do something. Marcus lived his life to the fullest.
Marcus leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted and loving wife Naudia Delaney-Moore and their sons, Aaron, Arell, and Arius Moore. He is also survived by his father Wayne Moore Sr. (Julia), his mother Pamela Savoy, and his siblings: Marquis Harper (Candice), Robert Moore, Christopher Cardwell (Lashell), Wayne Moore, Jr., Darrell Moore (Marian), Terrell Moore, Pamela Reynolds, Christina Pulley (Ronald), Kawana Ringold (Jamil), Ashley Rodriguez, Brittany Moore, and Angela Harris as well as a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Marcus is preceded in death by James Harper, grandfather.
