Written 12/11/2011

It’s been six years since you left me, on that December night.

I didn’t understand it, it just wasn’t right.

The flesh in me was angry, I wanted one more day.

I didn’t tell you all the things, which I had to say.

I saw you take your last breath, as you looked into my eyes.

I hated that last memory, it made me want to die.

Time has shown me clearly, how significant that moment was.

It was something very wonderful, shared only between us.

I know your day was written, in the books so long ago.

The date, the time and hour, we just never know.

You were my rock for so long, I felt so all alone.

But I know that you are with me always, long after you are gone.

There were so many titles for you; where do I begin?

My mother, my teacher, my mentor and best of all my friend.

Not a single day goes by me, when you’re not on my mind

I know now the concept of how a mother’s love does bind.

I know you are dancing around heaven, with aches and pains no more.

We’ll be together one day, just wait for me by the door.

For all the things I learned from you and what you gave to me.

I can’t say thank you enough times mother, Martha Johnson Gee.

I love you Momma and miss you even more.

Mom you're my Angel

Mom you're my Angel

Watching from up above,

With all your kindness, tenderness

And everlasting love.

You have always looked after me

And taught me right from wrong,

And when I'm down or worried

It's always you that comes along.

You're not just Mom but a friend of mine

A friend I can't replace,

And every time I think of you

All I see is your smiling face.

I Miss...

I miss your voice that used to use to sing gospel songs all day

I miss the little quirky things you always used to say

I miss your eyes that would bring me to ease when things got rough

I miss your nicknames you gave me when I would act tough

I miss the prayers you taught me whenever we would pray

I miss our talks we used to have each and every day.

I miss the I love you's you gave the good mornings & good night's.

I miss your big bright smile and your shining light.

I miss our arguments knowing you were always right.

I miss you........the way you once were.

7 Years...

Dear Mama,

Each morning as I wake up, to face a brand new day.

A loving memory of you,  helps start me on my way.

I talk to you each morning, it really makes me smile

I wish I could hear your voice, for just a little while

I see you in your great grand kids, your mannerisms show

It’s funny how that happens, some you don’t even know.

They all hear of their Nana and the love that she shared

How helping other people for you, was just like breathing air.

You gave your heart so freely, asking nothing in return

We all should be so lucky, that lesson to have learned

Your Chargers didn’t do too well, their year was really bad.

Norv and A.J were fired, so it’s not all sad

Tell Junior I said hello, please give Michael a kiss

There are so many loved ones with you , too many that I miss.

Well time for me to go for now, we’ll talk again tomorrow

As I wake up in the morning, to start my day in sorrow.

I love you Mama

Letter to Mama

Dear Mama,

I write this letter to you to say,

Happy birthday to you on your special day

I miss your smile, your laugh and your face

I know that you ran such a good race.

There is nothing in between that I won’t remember

From your birth in January until your death in December

I’m proud to be blessed with your humor and wit

Your patience and forgiveness, I’m still trying to get

Not a day goes by that I don’t miss you so

I understand now why you had to go

God called you on home, he wanted you near

Your earthly work was done, you were finished down here

I think of our friendship, laugh and your love

As you smile down on me from heaven above

Say hello to Michael, Grandma Susie and all

The Williams in heaven are having a ball.

You taught me well “it is the Lord’s will”

For it was his scriptures in me you instilled

The Lou Gee legacy will forever live on

Each new baby learns of “Nana” and the work she’s done

When all is over, it is said and done

I pray my child too says, a good race she’s run

Forever loving and remembering you

Susan Denise Gee
