I just learned of the passing of my Macy comrade. What a gentleman and loyal man. So many trips together and his class and professionalism were a standard for all to follow. A sense of humor unrivaled. REST IN PEACE SHOEGUY!!!!

The decades have passed quickly but the sentiments of some who cross your path remain the same.
This month, the Men's industry lost a great man and leader. For me, I lost an outstanding mentor and very dear friend. Mike was like a father, brother and best friend and helped me thru some difficult times. I know he touched so many lives with his laughter, love of life & family and of course his passion for shoes!
I will keep Judy, Mindy, Danny and Katy in my prayers. While his "shoes" cannot be filled & life goes on, his footprints remain indelible for all of those whose lives he touched.
I will miss you Mighty Mike. RIP and God Bless.

All our foreign trips to Europe and the Far East. The laughing, the meals, the long plane rides and all the great talks we had! All the Vegas trips and the blackjack tables! Nothing will every dim these precious memories. Every time we were together or talked on the phone, we never stopped laughing. We'd always end our calls with "It's Your Turn" for one of of us to call back next time.

Our heartfelt condolences to the Batlin family. I have many fond memories of Mike and the family. Most notably camping at Blue Lakes, the hospitality at his home, grossly overpaying for a mediocre paint job in San Bruno, and of course, CSUC graduation! Of equal import will always be the example and inspiration from Mike as a husband and father. Mike's kindness, humor, patience, and vitality are traits I can only hope to emulate going forward. Plus, he played the drums!
With love always,
George Berry and family
