Michael James Lawson, 55 of Puyallup Wa passed away at home in the arms of his loved ones on Nov. 3, 2017 after a courageous 15 month battle with cancer. Michael was born Jan. 27, 1962 in Seattle Wa to parents Lyle Calvin Lawson (deceased) and Katherine June Lawson. He grew up in the Issaquah Wa area and attended Issaquah High School class of 1980. He then joined the United States Air Force where he served as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist at Williams Air Force Base in Mesa Arizona.
Michael lived as a bit of a rebel who lived life large and on his own terms. He wanted to have as many experiences and enjoy them to the fullest. His life long passions included cars, motorcycles, jet skis, boats and basically anything with a motor! He used that passion to create a career in the automotive industry where he successfully ran his own business for 15 years. He also had a great passion for food and enjoyed cooking, especially on his home built smoker. His delicious smoked meats will be missed by many
Michael will be greatly missed by his family and many, many friends. He will be remembered as a kind, loving, brave, strong and charismatic man that could capture your heart from the moment you met him. Michael is survived by the love of his life, Terra Hopkins (Lucas Hopkins,son and Hudson Hopkins Grandson), son Nikolas Lawson, mother Katherine June Lawson, sister Patricia Wyrick Smith (Martin), sister Jackie Lawson (Walter), nephews Ryan Wyrick , Taylor Wyrick (Libbye), Zachary Lawson, great niece Brooklyn Wyrick and great nephew Austin Wyrick.
A Celebration of Life for Michael will be held on Dec. 3, 2017, 2:00pm at Pioneer Park Pavillion in Puyallup, WA.
