Ron M MacLeod loved his family. He was born on April 30, 1933 and passed away on November 26, 2017. Like the eagle he so admired, he loved our country and protected it by serving as an officer in the US Marine Corps, retiring as a Major in 1972 before starting his career in residential real estate sales. He is survived by his wife Luraine; daughter Michele and her partner Gina; son Ron; son Charlie and his wife Shawn; granddaughters Vanessa (and fiancé Ryan), Sharleez, and Cheyenne; great-grandson Ryder; and his sister Penny DeGraff and her husband Dale.
He took an active interest in civic and community affairs and was a member of the Hialeah Florida Jaycees 1958-60, executive member of the San Francisco Jaycees 1961-63; past president of Toastmaster Hard Hats, San Diego Grove Condominium Association, Mira Mesa "Band-Aids" and Scripps Ranch Little League. He also served as President, Oceanside Senior Anglers in 1995. He donated over five gallons of blood to the San Diego Blood Bank.
Ron, a true sportsman at heart, was a dedicated deep sea and trout fisherman and devotee of Louis L’Amour’s novels and stories. He was an excellent photographer and greatly enjoyed participating in get-togethers of his South Kitsap High School, Port Orchard “Skukum” alums in the Seattle area.
