William Snow was born in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of David Snow and Regina Kohn Snow.   His is a truly American story.    His father David came to America at age 12 with his mother, Mary (Malke) Snow and his brother Herman.  David  trained at a settlement school, learning sign painting, and worked for Flo Ziegfield in NYC.  He married Regina and they had 7 children.  Will was the fourth, following Robert, and after the family moved to Des Moines, Katharine and Judith. 
Will loved grandma Mary Snow, from whom he inherited both brilliance and spunk and  learned respect and discipline.  David moved the family to Chicago in 1930 where he practiced law.  Three children followed, Sylvia, Joseph and Roslyn.  Will was the dutiful brother who helped the . . .
