John E. Borum
(1917 - 2008)
 
John Edwin Borum was born November 01, 1917 in St. Lukes Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida.   His parents were Annie May Coleman and Otis Powell Borum; John had one brother, Otis.   
 
He and his brother (Otis C) led an idyllic childhood growing up near the St. John's River.   Just 14 months apart they grew up in a time of great adventure.   They became best friends spending hours and hours on the St. Johns River learning to swim, boat and fish.  At just 8 and 10 years old, the world was a simpler place.  It was not uncommon for the two brothers to have their Mom pack them lunch and send them off for the entire day by themselves in a boat.   Inseparable throughout . . .
