August 28, 1957 - September 02, 2009 Sunday, October 11, 2009 1:18 PM
I was the other third of the Welsh cake eating clan with Julia! Like so many other contributors, Brian was my friend. We spent many hours talking about the very many things we had in common, which transcended beyond our love for the Swans to include care, fairness, compassion and love of family. We shared common values. I trusted him, I sought his advice and I respected his views. I will miss him greatly.
God bless all of Brian's family. I sign off from all family members because he was a family friend. Cysgwch mewn hedd. Pob bendith oddi wrth Mark, Karen, Samuel, Rebeca, Sara, Timothy and Jesica Mark Edwards (Swansea, Wales)

Brian
We haven't seen you for many years, my memories of you are always as a gentle, kind and considerate person that committed many years to helping others, particularly in your work with the ATC which is where we met and stayed colleagues for a long time. The help, support advice guidance and friendship that you gave to me as a young cadet when I first met you at 215 squadron and in the years to follow when we served together at Pontardawe Squadron and then our famous trip to Aviemore Scotland in 1991 which will forever be remembered. I and my family are so sad to hear of your sudden passing and our sympathies reach out to your family. You will be greatly missed. Brian was a true gentleman, someone who would always look out for you and always be there as a friend. I have known Brian since he was a cadet and in all that time I have never known him to have a cross word or hold a grudge against anyone. He made a huge impact in the lives of everyone who met him and all that have met him will be as sad as you are at his untimely death. No 3 Welsh Wing, Air Training Corps, will miss him and certainly remember him. Bob Wg Cdr RJ Wilson Officer Commanding No 3 Welsh Wing Bob Wilson (Swansea, South Wales, UK)

I only knew Brian for a few years before he left the RAFVR(T) when I joined as one of the Civilian support staff to the ATC. He was a quiet, gentle person but had the tenacity and fortitude to be an excellent leader and role model to all of the young people he came into contact with in the ATC. May I pass on my codolences to his family at this very sad time.

We were very saddened to learn of the death of Brian at such a young age. We knew him for over 20 years and he worked for my husband at DVLC and organised his retirement party. A quiet, gentle man who loved flying. We hope a memorial service will be held in the UK.

A poem of comfort for those closest to Brian:
Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I, and you are you. Whatever we were to each other that we still are. Call me by my own familiar name, speak to me in the easy way you always used. Put no difference into your tone, wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me. Let my name be the household name it alwys was. Let it be spoken without the shadow of a ghost in it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. What is death but a negligible accident. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight. All is well, nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. God Bless. Sarah Butler (Swansea)

Although we didn't work together for very long, I knew immediately that you were a kind, caring, thoughtful man. It was a pleasure to have known you. My thoughts are with Debbie and Sean at this sad time. Bethan Jones (Ammanford, UK)
