Chester J. "Chet" Miller

Chet graduated from Bakersfield College in 1942 with a Pre-Law AA degree, served in the U.S. Navy as a Quartermaster through WWII, then graduated from San Jose State College in 1949 with a B.A. degree in Police Science and Administration, receiving department honors. After working with the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office and Palo Alto Police Department in California, Chet was appointed Special Agent with the U.S. Secret Service in 1951 and retired in 1978. He worked under seven presidents, from Truman through Carter. After the Kennedy assassination, he became the assistant special agent in charge of gathering intelligence and technical information for the subsequent investigation of Kennedy’s death.
