Ethel Ree "Woman/ Mother Dear" Armstrong-McDaniel
August 11, 1939 - September 26, 2008

On August 11, 1939 Ethel Ree was born in Edgecombe County, North Carolina to Thomas and Mary Lee Armstrong, who preceeded her in death. God called his faithful servant home on Friday, September 26,2008. Sister McDaniel was the youngest of six children. Four of her siblings and 3 brother-in-law preceeded her in death. Susie Mae Pittman, Thomas Armstrong Jr. Minnie Bell Armstrong, John Armstrong. Brother in-laws John Henry Fenner, Johnny Johnson and K.C Pittman. Ethel  attended school in Halifax County, North Carolina. June 24,1967 she  married  Theodore McDaniel (Buddy).They moved to Queens, New York where they raised their family. Ethel joined Emanuel Baptist Church on October 16,1977 under the leadership of Reverend H. David Parker. She served  faithfully  on both the Usher Board and  the Adult Chior. Every Sunday  she found pleasure in making certain her Pastor had fresh water and her choir members received a bulletin. Sister Ethel McDaniel was an extremely loving, nurturing and giving person.She loved to cook, an had a open door policy. All were welcome- in both her home and in heart. She loved to cook and feed everyone. You never knew who would come looking for a bite to eat. Ethel McDaniel's loyatly, support and adoration of all her '' family'' (whether it be blood, or her Christian brothers and sisters). remained steadfast and true. No matter what, through the hardest of times, you could always lean and count on Aunt Ree. She was real deal, the ultimate Christian soldier- marching on through sickness into His everlasting arms, with strength and courage that only genuine warriors of and for God.can muster up.Through out life and particularly during her illness, Sister McDaniel's faith remained unwavering and soul deep. She never wasted a second questioning her illness or lot in life. She stated that she '''felt grateful and

was blessed''. Blessed- for the gift of the sixty-nine years God had given her, as well as for the extended family that grew out of this blessing. Her favorite saying was ''God Speed''.  Mother Dear leaves to cherish her fond memories;

Theodore ( Buddy) McDaniel of 41 years, Children; Columbus(Id)Armstrong,Charles(Bo)Armstrong(and his wife Ruth),Deborah ( Laine)Ellerbee( and her husband Maurice),Debbie(Duck) McRae(and her husbandRobert),Jennifer ( Jenna-boot/boo)Armstrong,Melissa(Mookie)McDaniel,and Lou-Tessie(Tisha/Tiz-zay)McDaniel( and her fiancee Virgil ( Murray-Bey). God Daughter; Rondea McAllister. 19 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren 2 sistersLottie Mae Fenner,Henrietta Johnson. 5 Brother-In-Laws, 6 Sister-In-Laws. Very Special and Trusted Friends; Dr. Anthony Colantonio, Bernice Covington,Virginia Dinnerson, Vasquez and Bernadette Pierre, James and Pauline Price and  Easter Gaddy.Very Special caregiver and niece Corine Armstrong.  and a host of nieces,nephews,cousins and friends that loved her deeply and will miss her greatly.

Ethel Ree Armstrong-McDaniel died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008. Arrangements will be announced by Clark Funeral Home.
 Wake will be from 4pm until 7 pm at Emanuel Baptist Church located in Elmont Long Island followed by the Homegoing service from 8:00 .  Ethel Ree Armstrong-McDaniel will have another homegoing service at  her home church St. Paul Baptist Church at 2 pm   located in Enfield, North Carolina. Interment will be Clearview Cementary located in Enfield, North Carolina.
