Myrta Lentz
January 09, 1952 - February 18, 2017

Myrta Jean Lentz, 65, of Arlington, WA passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, at Providence Hospital on Feb 18th, 2017. Previously in good health, the last several years she had struggled with respiratory complications. In addition, a more recent onset of macular degeneration had caused near-blindness. Through the hardships, her faith and unbreakable spirit never waned. Myrta's tenaciousness in the face of adversity and her ability to land on her feet were unparalleled. Her loving and giving nature, grace, and fierce work ethic is an inspiration to us all. We miss you more than words could ever express. Born in Wichita Kansas in 1952, she moved to Washington with her family in 1968. She met the love of her life, Pal Alen Lentz, in 1971 and they married shortly after. Living in Seattle and then Bothell for a short time, they settled in Marysville, WA in 1979, where they raised their two sons. Pal and Myrta moved to RFK State Park (Now Joemma Beach) to be on-site campground hosts and then later moved to Port Orchard, WA. They were married until his passing there on July 2nd, 2001. Myrta was a homemaker, and later worked at a variety of places including: Kmart in Marysville, RFK State Park, and as a private caregiver. Her interests included camping, fishing, working on tug boats off and on with her husband, bowling, shopping, going to the casino, and being with family. More recently she had developed a love of zip-lining, travel and watching The Voice. She loved classic rock and country music, Pepsi and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. In 2010 she moved to Port Angeles, where she later became an active member of the Dry Creek Grange. She assisted with various events with her sister, Cindy, and companion, Don. The last four months of her life, she spent living with Shawn, Sara, and Jordan in Arlington. They are immensely grateful for the time spent with her these last months. "We love you more!" Myrta is preceded in death by her loving husband, Pal Lentz; father, Virgil Darby; brother, Virgil Darby Jr; step-father, Speed Coghill; and mother, Rose Coghill. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Sara Lentz; son, Trevor Lentz; grandchildren; Kayley, Taylor, Zachary, Brody, and Jordan; siblings, Cindy (Timm) Kelly, Carole Darby, and Diane (Kurt) Knox; cousin, Benny Guydelkon; nephews Patrick (Lynzy) Kelly,Tyler (Chrissy) Kelly ,Danny Perez Jr., Jose Perez and Dodd (Jill) Severn, nieces  Meredith (Erik) Lokkins, Doreen (Andre) Waardenburg and Brooke (Clay) Lincoln and many great neices and nephews. Celebration of Myrta's life will be held March 18th, 2017 at Dry Creek Grange, 3520 West Edgewood Dr, Port Angeles, WA, 98363  from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
