Ronald “Ron” Francis Antimarino, of Long Beach, CA passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Ron was born in Greensburg, PA on April 14, 1939 to John Albert and Mary Anita (DiBagno/Passacantando) Antimarino. He was a proud graduate of Jeannette High School.  He attended the University of Pittsburgh School undergraduate and Graduate School of Dentistry.  

Dr. Antimarino then joined the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant and began the adventure by taking his growing family to duty stations in Washington D.C, NAS Cubi Point, Philippines, NAS Los Alamitos, CA, NAS Whidbey Island, WA, NAS San Diego, 29 Palms MCAGCC while living in La Palma, CA and finally settling down in Long Beach, CA.

Following his retirement as a Commander in the US Navy, he built a thriving dental practice in Long Beach and was loved by his many patients. Ron further served his profession as president of the Harbor Dental Society and ethics chairperson of the California Dental Association where he also took great pride in proctoring the State Dental Board examinations. Ron served as President of Bixby Hill HOA and as a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus organization. He was an active donor in his community sponsoring military families in need. He was an active longtime parishioner of St. Hedwig Catholic Church and the Los Alamitos Military Base Catholic Church.

Some of Ron’s happiest times were spent vacationing with family in Hawaii, taking his dogs on long walks, watching Steeler & Laker games, telling good jokes, laughing with friends, and celebrating his Italian heritage with great music, food, and wine.

Ron is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann (Jones) Antimarino, his sister Sandra Dravillas and her husband Jim; his niece Nicole Fravel and his nephew Jimmy Dravillas.

He was adored by his four loving children; Kimberly and her husband Mr. Michael Rose, son Dr. Jeffrey Antimarino and his wife Ella, son Mr. Ronald Piper Antimarino and his wife Elizabeth, daughter Jennifer and her husband Mr. Robert Reagan.  

Ron had nine grandchildren that were the loves of his life: Brianna Rose, Matthew Rose, Allegra Antimarino, Elise Antimarino, Stella Antimarino, Ryan Reagan, Gino Antimarino, Rosie Antimarino and Jessica Reagan.  

A Rosary / Vigil is planned for Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, 11482 Los Alamitos Blvd, Los Alamitos.  A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, 11482 Los Alamitos Blvd. Los Alamitos, CA 90720.  Monsignor Bill O’Keefe, Father Ken Schmit and Deacon Gary Mucho will be officiating.  Burial will follow at the Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, 8301 Talbert Ave. Huntington Beach, CA 92646. Family will receive guests for a reception immediately following.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Knights of Columbus Council 5568 at PO Box 255 Los Alamitos, CA 90720 in Memory of Dr. Ronald Antimarino to assist in funding a scholarship to provide young students with a Catholic High School education.
