Rhiannon's Stanford Celebration
On December 8, 2007, we experienced a profound tragedy when Rhiannon Meier was taken from us. Rhiannon was unique in every sense of the word and she meant so many different things to so many of us. Her death came as a shock to all of us and it is still very hard to believe that she is gone.
Rhiannon left her mark on the Stanford community. She was a Stanford Dollie, a tour guide, a Sierra Camper, an RA, founded Urban Styles, and a very active member of Ram's Head. But it isn't the activities that defined her, it was the way she touched all of our lives through them. It is only fitting that we have a chance to come together to remember all of the things she meant and still means to us.
We would like to invite you to join us for a celebration of Rhiannon Meier's life on Sunday, January 27 at 2pm. We have not yet finalized the location, but it will either be at Stanford or very close to campus. This celebration is open to anyone and everyone who has been touched by Rhiannon, her energy and her enthusiasm.
At 2:30pm, there will be a short, informal program that will include
a slide show and short speeches. If you have pictures or short video clips that you would like to contribute to the slide show, please go to http://groups.google.com/group/rhiannon-stanford-celebration. If you are unable to send them through this site, please contact Jeff Cooper ( email@example.com). For those of you who would like to share your stories during the program, please consider sharing short anecdotes that exemplify the person that Rhiannon was. If you would like to speak, please contact John Chase (firstname.lastname@example.org). Attire for the celebration is business casual.
We have most of the details taken care of, but if you would like to
help us with putting this on, please contact either Josh Schiller
(email@example.com ) or Jit Bhattacharya( firstname.lastname@example.org). We do still need someone to assist us in putting together the slide show as well as someone to videotape the celebration.
