Robert Wells Nelson, 73, of Valenzuela City, Philippines, died Nov 4, 2017 in his home.

Robert was born August 2, 1944, Needles, California, to Milo and Betty (Johnson) Nelson. 

Robert lived in California most of his life.  He was born in Needles, Ca where he graduated HD in 1962 from Needles Senior High School.  Robert moved to San Jose, CA to attend San Jose State for his first year of college.  Robert returned to Needles in the 1970s where he worked (3rd generation) as a train conductor for BNSF Railroad stationed out of Needles CA during his career.  Robert moved to Valenzuela City, Philippines in 2010 where he met and married Praci in 2012.  Robert was a beloved member of his community in Valenzuela City and was an active Rotarian also having been honored as president of his local Rotary Club chapter.  Robert was also a skilled woodworker and an artist.

Robert was preceded in death by both of his parents and his beloved wife Ma Praceli (Praci) Sawal Nelson.  Robert is survived by three children:  Michelle Lloyd, her spouse Mike Lloyd and their 4 children, Danielle Parrish, her spouse Reuben Parrish and their daughter and Jim Nelson, his spouse Katie Nelson and their two sons. Robert is also survived by an adopted daughter Mandy Huffman, her children and by five step children: Tami Litton, Richard Litton, Jaymee Canares-Aguilando and PJ Canares and their children.  He is survived by many friends and family including two sisters, Jane Hartley and Judy Robinson and her husband Rick Robinson and a brother Richard (Rick) Nelson and his wife Joan and their families.  He was a charismatic and approachable person and very generous with those he cared for.  He will be missed by many.

Celebration of Life service will be officiated by Pastor Lamb, of The Assembly of God and will be held at the Needles Elks Lodge, 1000 Lillyhill Dr.  Needles, CA  92363 (760)326-1608 on Saturday, December 30th at 10:30a.m.  Friends and family are welcome.

No formal burial services will be held.
